Hanoi eyes half of population conducts cashless payments in e-commerce by 2025

Payment through intermediary service providers would account for 80% and about 70% of purchases on e-commerce websites/apps would be e-invoiced.
The local goverment expects 55% of its population to get involved in e-commerce by 2025 and the percentage is set to grow by two percentage points per year.
Business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce sales (for goods and services provided online) will account for 10% of the total retail sales of consumer goods and services, with average annual growth about 20%.
The city’s businesses strive to achieve 80% of e-commerce websites having online ordering function by 2025. Besides, 50% of small-medium enterprises will conduct their business on e-commerce platforms, including those in social networks. Up to 40% of the enterprises are expected to participate in e-commerce activities on mobile applications.
To achieve the objectives, the Hanoi People's Committee has set out a number of tasks and solutions, in particular, building and developing infrastructure and support services for e-commerce such as upgrading the website “Hanoi Shopping Map”, putting into operation and promoting its website at http://bandomuasam.hanoi.gov.vn.
The city will also develop electronic logistics for e-commerce activities; build and improve the capacity of the transport service network, logistics infrastructure, and freight forwarding within Hanoi and with other localities.
