Visitors get the opportunity to explore an exhibition area showcasing the exquisite wooden crafts of Thiet Ung Village, join in hands-on woodworking experiences, and participate in traditional festival activities.
This model will be replicated in other traditional artisan villages in the district in the near future.
At the opening ceremony on February 7, Hoang Hai Dang, Vice Chairman of Dong Anh District People's Committee, emphasized that the event serves as a platform to promote the district's tourism potential and strengths, while honoring cultural heritage and encouraging interaction with local folk culture.
He noted that the village, also known as Ong Village, is renowned for its traditional woodcarving craftsmanship. Each generation of artisans carries on the rich heritage of their ancestors and maintains the artistic excellence of their craft.
In the past, Thiet Ung's carved wood products were mainly sold in traditional markets. But now they have reached various regions of the country and have begun to be exported.
Dao Cong Trung, Head of Thiet Ung Village in Van Ha Commune, hoped that Thiet Ung - Van Ha - Dong Anh would become a safe, friendly, culturally rich and attractive destination for both tourists and locals who want to explore the region's cultural heritage.
At the event, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade announced its decision to recognize the Creative Design Center model, which was set up to promote and sell OCOP products from Van Ha Woodcraft Village.
The event also celebrates the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025) and the Lunar New Year in support of the "Get on Hanoi 2025" initiative.
