Other locations where people infected with the new coronavirus (SARS-Covid-2) are found need to undergo disinfection, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said at a meeting on Sunday.

On March 7, the Chemical Army sprayed disinfectant at Truc Bach street, where the first nCoV patient was detected in Hanoi, and the adjacent neighborhood. The street is some kilometers away from the Ba Dinh square.

Chung said that the Covid-19 epidemic evolution in the city is now complicated and unpredictable, putting Hanoi at high risk of contagion.

Hanoi will put all its resources at service and best materials to fight the coronavirus, Chung said, adding that information transparency is needed in this battle.

Hanoi has reported four infection cases so far and more are expected to come in the coming days as the first and fourth patients came from London on the same March 2 Vietnam Airlines flight and had met a large number of people before testing positive for the virus on March 5 and 8.
