Hanoi, Vientiane sign MoU for bilateral cooperation in 2022-2025
The Hanoi Party leader has announced a US$3-million aid for Vientiane to build the headquarters of the Department of Justice and the Procuracy of Vientiane.
Hanoi and Vientiane have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the 2022-2025 period, which serves as the basis to take bilateral relations to a new height.

The results were announced during a meeting between the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung and his Vientiane counterpart Anouphap Tounalom today [April 4] in the Laos capital.
At the meeting, Tounalom welcomed the Hanoi Party Chief and the high-level delegation accompanying him, stressing its significance amid the Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam Solidarity, and Friendship Year 2022.

Both sides reaffirmed the highest priority given to promoting friendship and cooperation between the two amid the ongoing global integration, which has been reflected by strengthening relations in all spheres including economy, healthcare, education, agriculture, defense, and people-to-people diplomacy.
The strong progress in cooperation in the past years has not only contributed to the development of the two capital cities but also preserved and nurtured the special friendship between the two Parties, Governments, and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

In the next five years, Hanoi and Vientiane would continue to promote high-level delegations exchange and share experiences in developing e-Government, urban planning and management, and people-to-people links for greater understanding in all fields.

During the talks, the Hanoi leader has announced a US$3-million aid for Vientiane to build the headquarters of the Department of Justice and the Procuracy of Vientiane.
The specific procedures would later be agreed upon once Vientiane proceeds with the building plan.
