New paths for development of Vietnam - India ties

During his state visit to Vietnam, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind will visit the UNESCO world heritage site of My Son in Quang Nam province.

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind's visit to Vietnam is an opportunity for the leaders of the two countries to discuss issues related to strengthening and setting new paths for future development, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Parvathaneni Harish told Hanoitimes on the sidelines of a press conference on November 15.

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind will arrive in Vietnam for a state visit from November 18 to 20. The visit is made at the invitation of Vietnamese President Nguyen Phu Trong.
According to the Indian ambassador, the state visit is a new development to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Indian president's visit to Vietnam will include Da Nang, where he is expected to visit Cham Museum. He is also scheduled to visit the UNESCO world heritage site of My Son in Quang Nam province.
In Hanoi, the president will hold talks with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Nguyen Phu Trong.
On November 19, the Indian head of State will meet with the Indian community and friends of India, including representatives from the Ho Chi Minh Academy of Politics, Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Vietnam – India Friendship Association, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organization, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and the Indian Chamber of Commerce.
Trade between Vietnam and India has increased from US$7.8 billion in 2015 – 2016 to US$12.8 billion in 2017 – 2018, making India among the top 10 trading partners of Vietnam. The two countries are poised to reach the US$15 billion target by 2020.
To further promote the growing trade and investment relations, an 80-member strong business delegations would be accompanying the President of India to attend the Vietnam – India Business Forum on November 19.
