Poster’s depict fight for freedom against the French

Over a hundred posters and artefacts featuring the Vietnamese people’s past struggle against the French invasion, went on display at the National History Museum in Hanoi.

The exhibition, which opened at No.25 Tong Dan Street on May 6, is part of activities marking the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (1954 - 2014).

It aims to provide visitors with a better understanding of the combative spirit of Vietnamese troops, the close-knit relationship between people and soldiers, as well as people’s daily lives during the war.

In Vietnam, posters were closely associated with the struggle for national independence and freedom and were considered an effective tool to disseminate Party and State policies and guidelines.

The exhibition will last until the end of July 2104.
