Program to mark Hanoi’s liberation celebration

The highlight of the program is a photo exhibition themed Hanoi the Autumn of that Year, which will display as many as 200 typical documentary images.

The Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center and the Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences (VAHS) will jointly hold a program to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day (October 10). 
 
The Memories of Autumn will kick off on September 6.

The program titled Memories of Autumn will feature a series of activities including a procession of photos of historical witnesses and their families, artistic performances and a historical flag hoisting ceremony. 

The highlight of the program is a photo exhibition themed Hanoi the Autumn of that Year, which will display as many as 200 typical documentary images, which saved the snapshots of the triumphal entrance of the liberation armed forces in Hanoi to take over the city from the French control; the flag raising ceremony at Cot Co stadium to celebrate Hanoi’s liberation on October 10, 1954. 

Besides, a workshop that gathers some historical witnesses and well-known historians namely Duong Trung Quoc and Le Van Lan will be held. Under the framework of the program, the organizers will launch a photo book on the liberation day titled We Bring Back the Glory to the Nation. 

The program will kick off on October 6 and last until December 25 at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long.
