Japanese experiences in reform are valuable to Vietnam, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The cancellation of the US-ASEAN Leaders’ Special Meeting will undermine Vietnam’s role as ASEAN Chair, according to Prof. Thayer.

As ASEAN Chair, Vietnam is hopeful the meetings will be a success, and plans and initiatives drawn up at the beginning of this year will be fully executed by the year-end.

The event is a meaningful cultural and artistic activity of 2020 as Vietnam is the ASEAN Chair.

The conclusion of the RCEP is particularly meaningful for Vietnam as the ASEAN Chair in 2020, which has put much effort to help complete the long-awaited deal.
