The removal was made after Vietnam has reported no new cases over the past 20 days and all 16 infected people have recovered.

Since late January 2020, health agencies of the two countries have shared information and data to combat Covid-19.

So far, the US CDC has worked with Vietnam's health agencies for the fight against coronavirus and it plans to open a representative office in Vietnam.

Local leadership believes that strict implementation of precautionary measures would help the city better control the pandemic situation.

The US CDC official said that there's no evidence showing that Vietnam's coronavirus data is made up.
