Two ministers Nguyen Bac Son and Truong Minh Tuan are charged with "taking bribes" with a maximum penalty of death sentence.

Son, the former info minister, played the main role in the acquisition and he admitted to taking US$3 million from AVG Chairman Pham Nhat Vu.

The sentences partly show the Party and State's efforts to combat corruption regardless of the positions which the infringers have.
