Under the direction of Hanoi People's Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Trong Dong, the city launched a comprehensive external communication plan on February 19 which ensures alignment with national policies and international outreach goals.
The plan aims to create a unified and effective approach across city agencies and raise awareness of the importance of diplomacy, investment promotion, and cultural exchange.
Hanoi will leverage digital platforms and media channels to expand its global visibility and position itself as an attractive destination for foreign investment, tourism, and international cooperation. Key priorities include strengthening coordination among government agencies, enhancing training for personnel in foreign communication, and modernizing public relations through digital transformation.
Authorities will also work to counter misinformation, ensure accurate interpretation of the city's policies, and promote the city's achievements on global platforms. Hanoi's Department of Information and Communication is tasked with overseeing the initiative, developing content for Vietnam's external information portal, and facilitating cooperation with international partners.
District authorities will play a role in localizing outreach efforts and fostering people-to-people diplomacy. The city aims to implement innovative and transparent communication strategies to better project Hanoi on the international stage.
