Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, chief editor of the Economic & Urban newspaper and head of the Organizing Board, said that in the past nine years, the contest "For the Capital’s Traffic Safety" has actively contributed to ensuring traffic order and safety in Hanoi city.
A large number of people, especially students from the city, have responded enthusiastically to the contest, contributing to raising awareness of traffic laws and building a safe driving behavior among young people in particular and people in general, Mr. Duc emphasized.
He added that "For the Capital’s Traffic Safety 2020" will continue to be innovated so that its impacts would be wider.
In particular, the content of the quiz on Internet for high school and junior high school students will continue to be the highlight of the program, Mr. Duc said, adding that the Organizing Board has based on newly issued legal documents governing road transit and real life traffic situations to work out questions appropriate for each grade level.
"I hope that this year's internet quiz will receive greater responses from students in the city," Mr. Duc said.
Besides, for the first time in the history of the contest, the Organizing Board will vote and honor typical individuals in the work of ensuring traffic order and safety in Hanoi city.
