Hanoi: Cinemas lack clients during the peak season
Despite of the peak of entertainment season after Tet holiday, cinemas in Hanoi city are almost desolate due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, cinemas in Hanoi always operated at full capacity. However, according to the survey of Hanoitimes, most of cinemas in the city were deserted last weekend.

According to Pham Thi Ha Van- an audience from Dong Da district, Hanoi city, movie theaters are empty because of there are no newly launched movies due to Covid-19 pandemic, meanwhile, audiences are reluctant to go to cinema due to fear of disease infection. “I wish that the pandemic will be over soon, so that the more interesting films will be screened,” she said. |

Buyers outnumber sellers at many cinema’s ticket counters. Quite a few ticket counters even have to stop operating due to the absence of movie goers. There was also nobody at the cinema’s food court area. |
The place is still noisy, not because of people’s voices but music and voices from advertorials at the food court or on the hung flat TV. |
Despite the absence of clients, the cinema still reminds people to take the measures on Covid-19 pandemic protection. |
At the doors of the screening rooms, hand sanitizer was arranged for regular usage among audiences. |
A few youth audiences come to the cinema for watching the older films that had already been screened before Tet holiday. |
