Hanoi extends support for Bac Giang Covid-19 hotspot
Hanoi’s leading health professionals help local authorities improve testing capacity, contact tracing, and quarantine management.
Hanoi has received more than 10,000 samples from Bac Giang Covid-19 hotspot in the past two days to test for the virus as part of its support to the province.

The Hanoi’s Center for Diseases Prevention and Control (CDC) assumes responsibility for the testing.
On May 18, health professionals of the Hanoi’s Department of Health worked with authorities in Lang Giang district, one of the heavily affected areas in Bac Giang, to review the anti-pandemic tasks and discuss the cooperation.
The professionals have held two training workshops on contact tracing and quarantine management for Lang Giang’s authorities.
On the same day, the Hanoi team supported the sample collection in three affected industrial parks namely Quang Chau, Van Trung, and Dinh Tram.
The team also trained local health workers in conducting precautionary measures and handling medical waste.
Those who are working in Bac Giang are leading health professionals of Hanoi coming there two days ago to support the local government.
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh said before their departure to Bac Giang that sending leading health experts is a way to stand shoulder to shoulder with the locality.
Both Hanoi and Bac Giang are affected by the fresh outbreak of coronavirus with 246 and 517 infections, respectively.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Health has recently issued an official letter requesting the People's Committees of cities and provinces to review all incoming persons who have undergone the mandatory 14-day quarantine period since April 4.
