Hanoi schools on alert for Typhoon No. 3
As Typhoon No. 3 approaches, the Hanoi Department of Education has ordered schools to protect property and ensure the safety of students from potential storm damage.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has urged all educational institutions across the city, including local education divisions, vocational and training centers, and schools, to take proactive measures in response to Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi).

The department required schools to prepare evacuation plans for property, machinery, equipment, furniture, documents, and books to safe locations to ensure that any damage, loss, or destruction would be minimized.
All schools are requested to strictly follow the central government and city authorities' guidelines on disaster prevention and rescue operations. Educational institutions were reminded to keep a close eye on weather forecasts and updates to enable timely responses and mitigate the impact of natural disasters.
In line with this, the department emphasized the importance of schools reviewing and updating their disaster response plans based on the "four-on-the-spot" principle to ensure preparedness in all areas. Schools have also been advised to inspect their grounds, particularly for large and old trees that could be at risk of falling or breaking during the storm. If such trees are identified, they must be reported immediately for urgent handling. In cases where immediate action is not possible, schools should issue clear warnings and coordinate with the relevant authorities to address the hazard as quickly as possible.
Regular monitoring of Typhoon No. 3's path and weather developments will be essential for all educational institutions as they prepare for potential disruptions and damage caused by the storm. The safety of students, staff, and school facilities remains a top priority as Hanoi braces for the approaching typhoon.
