Hanoi’s supporting industry enterprises attend VIMEXPO 2022

As many as 20 booths from Hanoi’s supporting industry enterprises are set up at the 3rd Vietnam international supporting industry and manufacturing exhibition (VIMEXPO 2022), the only international exhibition on manufacturing and supporting industries in the country.

VIMEXPO 2022, with the slogan "Connect to Develop" and running through November 19, aims to connect businesses in the capital, Vietnam, with multinational corporations.

Speaking at the exhibition's opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Association of Support Industries Businesses (HANSIBA) Nguyen Van said: "This event is an opportunity for the capital's enterprises to seek foreign partners, enabling them to participate in global production networks and value chains.

He added that Vietnam's support and processing industry has developed rapidly and has been interested by many foreign companies.

On an area of almost 5,000 square meters, the exhibition displays nearly 300 booths of more than 200 companies representing the automotive industry, equipment, and spare parts. The exhibition is organized into four main sectors: the mechanical manufacturing sector, automotive manufacturing and assembly, the high-tech industry, electronics, and related industries.

The three-day event is expected to attract about 15,000 visitors. 

Pham Tuan Anh, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Industry Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said the event is expected to create opportunities for exchanging and sharing experiences among agencies, organizations, associations, sectors, and enterprises operating in manufacturing and supporting industries, helping businesses promote products, technologies and find investment opportunities.

President of Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) Hiroyuki Ueda also assessed that, through VIMEXPO 2022, TMV hopes TMV hopes to contribute to strongly boost the development of the Vietnamese support industry and connect with many potential suppliers at the show. 

TMV believes that the expo will be an opportunity to help the Vietnamese businesses in the supporting industry develop faster and further.

At the exhibition, many participating companies were interested in new production technologies and the manufacturing process's digitalization to improve the products' professionalism and quality.

Among the HANSIBA’s booths, the QMS Technology Co., Ltd. provides solutions integrating technology, human resources, and corporate governance.

General director of QMS Technology Co. Vu Hong Quan said that technology advancement, technology integration, and governance are significant, as they are a decisive factor for the capability and professionalism of Vietnamese companies that want to approach foreign partners. 

“We are currently working with many international partners from Singapore, the UK, Australia, and the US to improve capacity and standards, Quan added.

According to President and CEO of Intech Group Hoang Huu Thang, the Government's support policies related to the processing and manufacturing industry are adequate. He suggested that in the coming time, more exhibitions and events should create the opportunity for businesses to exchange and connect with each other.

Director of An Hoa Equipment and Technology Solutions Co., Ltd. Nguyen Quy Tinh said the registration cost for international exhibitions is a concern for small and medium enterprises while such an expo is very practical for them to approach advanced technologies and improve production capacity.

With the goal of increasing investment attraction and improving the capacity of supporting industries in Hanoi, the city’s authorities have adopted the supporting industry development program for the 2020-25 period.

This year, according to the plan, Hanoi targets to have about 920 enterprises operating in the supporting industries.

Of these, there will be about 300 enterprises owning international-standard production systems and products, which can take part in the global production network of multinational corporations in Vietnam.
