Over 412,000 square meters of floor area in Hanoi completed in Q1
Hanoi would continue to speed up the construction of new housing projects to meet the growing demand of the locals.
During the first quarter of 2022, over 412,000 square meters of floor area, equivalent to 3,877 new apartments, have been built in Hanoi, according to a report from the municipal Department of Construction.

These included 282,448 square meters of commercial housing projects, or 2,707 apartments, and 130,220 square meters of social housing ones, or 1,170 apartments.
During the January-March period, the Department and local authorities issued construction licenses for 1,533 projects or 1.21 million square meters.
In addition, new residential projects in Tay Mo – Dai Mo (Nam Tu Liem District), and a smart city project (Dong Anh District) are under construction.
The city expects by late 2022 to complete one social housing project of 110,704 square meters, or 1,496 apartments, and 26 commercial projects with a combined floor area of 2.33 million square meters, equivalent to 13,724 apartments.
“The plan would serve as a basis for the city to speed up the housing development process to better meet the growing demand for housing, along with pushing for greener, smarter, and more sustainable urban development,” stated a representative of the Department.
In the coming time, the city would carry out a survey on the current housing status and map out a plan for housing development until 2030, with a vision for 2040, he added.
The Department expected efforts to boost infrastructure development to fully comply with existing planning and help further boost investment capital into the city for the healthy development of the real estate market.
For the 2021-2025 period, Hanoi plans to build 44 million square meters of housing to meet the growing demands of the public.
Upon breaking down, social housing projects would make up 1.25 million square meters, other 560,000 square meters correspond to resettlement houses, while commercial housing totals 19.69 million square meters, and detached houses 22.5 million square meters.
The combined area of houses for rent in social housing projects should be at least 30% of the total floor area and the average floor area per capita would be 29.5 square meters. In 2021, the city completed 12 property development projects with a combined floor area of 545,895 square meters, equivalent to 5,022 apartments and 469 detached houses. |
