Postage stamps to celebrate SEA Games 31 unveiled
An eye-catching set of stamps with images depicting five-strong sports of Vietnam, the host country of the 31st SEA Games, including soccer, athletics, shooting, swimming, and gymnastics, was released on May 6.
A postage stamp set featuring four stamp designs and one stamp block themed SEA Games 31 has just been released by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

“The stamp set will be widely distributed, with the aim of promoting the 31st SEA Games as well as the position of Vietnamese sports among the wide public at home and abroad,” it stated.
The set of graphic stamps was designed by artists Tran The Vinh and Nguyen Du from Vietnam Post Corporation. The stamp is 43x32 mm, while the block is 80x100 mm.
The athletes depicted on the stamps show their determination for victory as well as fierce competitive spirit in sports.
The stamp background features the ASEAN symbol, representing the solidarity of the regional countries which are on their way to prosperity and development. Meanwhile, the logo and mascot of SEA Games 31 are also vividly printed on the stamps.
The stamp set of the 31st Southeast Asian Games will be widely distributed on the postal network nationally and internationally from May 12, 2022, to December 31, 2023, at the prices of VND4,000 (US$0.17) for a single stamp and VND15,000 ($0.65) for the stamp block.

The Southeast Asian Games is a biennial sporting event, drawing the participation of athletes from 11 countries in the Southeast Asia region. All the competitions at the games are strictly controlled by the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia.
This is the second time Vietnam has hosted the SEA Games, which will take place in Hanoi and 11 neighboring localities from May 6 to 23.
Vietnam's first set of stamps themed SEA Games was released by the Ministry of Information and Communications on July 1, 2003.
Vietnam national track and field team is eager to do its best to bring glory to the country, especially when Sea Games 31 is held at home.
Track-and-field athlete Quach Thi Lan will represent Vietnam to light up the torch at the opening ceremony.
The festival aims at fostering the connection among young people from Southeast Asian countries.
