The book fair welcomed some 14 publishing houses and associations from Myanmar, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and the Southeast Asia Publishing Association as well as representatives from embassies in Hanoi.

Each year, Havana International Book Fair honors a notable writer or a renowned cultural figure and a distinguished international guest of honor. 

During the week-long event, there are also other programs to celebrate the traditional Tet holiday will take place.

The ninth Hanoi Book Fair will be held in September under the theme "Hanoi: Capital of Culture and Heroes - City for Peace".
