Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested Vietnam and Germany soon set up a strategic action plan for the 2019 – 2021 period.

The ratification of the EU – Vietam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU – Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) would bring substantial benefits to all concerned parties, while improving the current modest trade turnover between Vietnam and Slovenia.

There could be another wave of investment capital to Vietnam in 2020 in anticipation of the enactment of the EU – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, as well as impacts of the US – China trade war, leading to a surge in imports of equipment, machinery and input materials, said Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh.

Activities including trade expos are expected to tighten economic ties between the two countries which will celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year.

Germany fully supports the Vietnam – EU relations, as well as the ratification of the EU – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU – Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
