A major pillar of the Vietnam – Russia strategic partnership is trade and economic cooperation, in which the Vietnam – Russia Expo plays a significant part, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Germany fully supports the Vietnam – EU relations, as well as the ratification of the EU – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU – Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

The two countries focus on trade, agriculture, education, development and cooperation on regional and international matters of mutual interest.

The action plan lays the foundation for the upgrade to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

Vietnam and Russia should further boost economic, trade, security and defense cooperation, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said.
