The power shortage will come sooner than forecast due to the delay of key power generation projects.

A major pillar of the Vietnam – Russia strategic partnership is trade and economic cooperation, in which the Vietnam – Russia Expo plays a significant part, according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Activities including trade expos are expected to tighten economic ties between the two countries which will celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year.

The deputy PM said Vietnam needs to mobilize domestic financial sources and credits to develop 8,000 megawatts per year.

The market is seen as an important place to exchange goods amid rising bilateral trade.
