Within the framework of Vietnam Days in India 2022, the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Forum in India held on December 14 demonstrated the efforts to promote bilateral cooperation between the regulatory agencies and businesses of the two countries.

The forum comprised three main discussion sessions, focusing on introducing the potential of Vietnam’s tourism.

This is an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to study the insights of Indian tourists, discuss aviation connections, and promote unique types of tourism that meet the needs of Indian tourists, such as culinary, wedding parties, MICE, resorts, and filming locations.

India is an important and potential market for the Vietnamese tourism industry, recording an increasing number of Indian arrivals, especially after Vietnam's opening up to international tourism.

According to the General Statistics Office, Vietnam welcomed 27,000 tourists from India in November, an increase of 31% from October and 50% higher than the same period in 2019.

In the first eleven months of 2022, the total number of Indian tourists in Vietnam amounted to 109,000, ranking fifth among Vietnam's top ten international source markets.
