Cat Linh – Ha Dong railway is the first metro line and one of the key public transport projects in Hanoi.

The deputy PM requested the general contractor to put the long-delayed Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway line into operation as soon as possible in 2020.

The trial operation of Hanoi’s first metro line has to be carried out by Chinese experts who have not come back from the Lunar New Year holiday.

Vietnam's Ministry of Transport will organize meetings with the Chinese contractor to discuss the capital issue for the trial operation of Hanoi’s first metro line.

A transport ministry official said that Vietnam has so far paid about 80% of the contracted amount and the rest would be paid just before the contractor hands over the project.
